Oct 2007 The first job was to remove the cab so that it could be rebuilt from scratch as it was too far gone for piecemeal repairs. All the new timber, both frame and tongue and groove boarding, was rebuilt from Ash. We realised that making a new bonnet to suit the vertical windscreen type of cab would be something of a challenge. |

June 2008 And so it was that we came to buy a 'wheeling machine' for the Friends. It made all the difference, ironing out all the imperfections in our hand hammered panels and leaving the metal in a beautiful smooth curve. There is great satisfaction in learning a new skill and the result was very pleasing. |
